| What
better manner can we explain the Advantages of a flexible conveying system made
by Satellite under technical collaboration with TIM of France. We have laid down
a comparison which will convince you to buy our system not only because it is
extremely economical but gives excellent performance. |

FLEXIBLE FEEDERS |
|
|
Mechanical
Flexible Feeders (See FIG.1) currently produced in India under a Technical Joint
Venture between Tim S. A., France and Satellite Plastic Industries, India are
today the best system to convey material from one point to another may it be a
plastic granule, flakes or powder or even Food products like coffee or tea granules
or powder or alike. The
model of the feeder depends on the application and is custom designed individually
to support the product and its characteristics like food grade polymer or powdery
materials, etc. There
are also some universal models for both powdery as well as granular materials. |
| The
variation in the output increase the size of the feeder and the RPM and wattage
of the motor to match the customers needs. The variation in the material type
changes the flight of the screw like round, flat, double flight, etc. |
| COMPARISON
WITH Vacuum Suction Loader: 1.)
Equipments Involved : In case of Vacuum
Suction Loaders, blowers (See FIG.2) are used which creates vacuum by sucking
the ambient temperature, which can contaminate the granules by adding dust, moisture,
etc. The ambient temperature in the machine area is usually high hence, the vacuum
loader always get overheated and create failures. Whereas the Mechanical Flexible
Feeder has a closed circuit and hence there is neither any chance to contaminate
the material, nor overheat the equipment. |
|
|
| 2.
Distances Possible : In Vacuum Suction Loaders,
limitation of distance is always a major issue. In Mechanical Flexible Feeders,
there is no limitation to the distance the same can be easily compensated by adding
an intermediate hopper and an additional motor with very low extra cost. This
system is very popular for both shorter as well as longer distances. 3.
Electrical Requirements : Vacuum Suction Loaders
are high power consuming equipments as against the Mechanical Flexible Feeders,
which consume very low power. An example of comparison is A Vacuum Suction Loader
needed to convey material at 100 kilos per hour at a distance of 7 meters shall
need a 1.50 kW blower as against a 1.10 kW motor for the Mechanical Flexible Feeders.
A clear saving of 40% in installed power. 4.
Power Consumption : The RPM of the blower
system cannot be varied by adding a drive incase of a Vacuum Suction Loader but
incase of Mechanical Flexible Feeders you can vary the RPM depending on the customers
request by providing an optional drive. Once again, in case of Mechanical Flexible
Feeders the power consumption can be lowered. 5.
Maintenance
: Blowers in Vacuum Suction Loader are very hard to maintain and need
frequent lubrication and other maintenance care but incase of the Mechanical Flexible
Feeders you have no maintenance except general cleaning of the system. 6.
Spares : The annual spares consumption like
bearings, filters, etc is very high in case of Vacuum Suction Loaders but incase
of Mechanical Flexible Feeders except for some oil seals required occasionally
there are no spare part required to be changed or replaced. |
| 7.
Powdery Material : Powdery material like PVC
cannot be conveyed with the Vacuum Suction Loader system, but with the Mechanical
Flexible Feeders system, it is possible for various type of powdery material.
For free flowing, no extra equipment is required. For non-free flowing materials,
an anti-bridging device is provided. 8.
Powdery regrind : Conveying Scrap of plastics
is a very big problem which is normally faced with the Vacuum Suction Loader powdery
scrap gets stuck in the filters and blocks them whereas in case of Mechanical
Flexible Feeders there are no filters and powder is also conveyed into the processing
system without problem leading to zero wastage. |
|
|
| 9.
Hygroscopic Nature of Material : Vacuum Suction
Loader is not a good system for hygroscopic material like PET, Nylon, PBT, Delrin,
etc; as it sucks and adds the atmospheric moisture into the polymer. In the Mechanical
Flexible Feeders system there is no suction hence no moisture in the system hence
clean dry material. |
| |
100% Raw-Material
usage: While sucking by Vacuum Suction Loader from bags, drums leftover material
are created. Whereas incase of Mechanical Flexible Feeders the material is conveyed
from silos and 0% leftover is there in the entire system. |
|
| 11.
General Homogeneity : The Vacuum Suction Loader
(See FIG. 3) as you know uses suction and discharge hence in case of multi-grades
of material, the same is sucked and discharged separately at intervals creating
layers in the hopper not allowing 100% homogeneity or mixing. Incase of Mechanical
Flexible Feeders the material is mixed by the conveying screw (See FIG. 4) during
conveying hence 100% homogeneity is achieved. |
|
|
| |
12.
Masterbatch
Addition : Masterbatch
in case of Vacuum Suction Loader is added onto the screw directly (See FIG. 5).
Hence, you will always find streaks of dark and light colours in the product when
seen through light. Incase of Mechanical Flexible Feeder the masterbatch is added
to the main silo by an additional silo (See FIG. 6) with a blending screw further
mixed by the main conveying screw.
| 13.
Scrap or Different grade of Material addition :
Incase of the Vacuum Suction Loader only a single additional grade of material
can be added online using a proportionate valve (See FIG. 7). Incase you want
to two or more grades of material you will have to do it manually before feeding
it through the Vacuum Suction Loader. Incase of Mechanical Flexible Feeders there
is no limit to the number of grades that you wish to mix. All you have to do is
add another silo (See FIG 8 ) to the main silo with a proportionating screw to
it and add as many different grades of material online with 100% homogeneity.

|
| |
14.
Level Sensing :
There is no possiblity to have a high or low level sensor to check the hopper
of material bag level in this case. In case of Mechanical Flexible Feeders the
high and low level sensor is provided at both the points to check the material
input and output level both. 15.
Environmentally Friendly : Mechanical Flexible
Feeders systems are very environmentally friendly. It does not create dust nor
does it absorb dust, moisture, etc. Hence, they take and deliver clean material
throughout its operation. Unlike the Vacuum Suction Loader, which not only creates
dust but also absorbs dust, moisture, etc?
| Summary
The
above comparison charts itself is self-explanatory as to how beneficial the Mechanical
Flexible Feeders system is to the user. It is not only flexible in nature but
also flexible in its application like the types of materials usable from granules
to powder to almost anything that needs to be conveyed from one point to another. The
applications are numerous from Plastic granules to Powder; from coffee granules
to sugar powder and that is not all. We custom design to suit a customer's application. |
